LAKEVILLE — Police Chief Matthew Perkins reports that the Lakeville Police and Fire Departments are at the scene of a serious crash involving a motorcycle and SUV.
Rescuers responded to a location on Rt. 18 in Lakeville at 6:24 p.m. Monday for a report of a motorcycle crashing into another vehicle.
Upon arrival, Lakeville police officers and firefighters located a Yamaha motorcycle that had crashed into a Honda CRV. The operators of both, who were the sole occupants of each vehicle — were seriously injured. The man operating the motorcycle and women operating the CRV, ages and residences unavailable at this time, were taken to Morton Hospital in Taunton by Lakeville Fire ambulances.
The roadway is closed in both directions at this hour as authorities investigate the crash.
The crash is under investigation by the Lakeville Police Department with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section (C.A.R.S.).
Mutual aid at the scene was provided by the Middleborough Police Department and units from the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office.
